The Rural Municipality of Stanley No. 215 is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Municipal Office Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the effective administration and governance of our municipality while enjoying the flexibility of a part-time schedule.

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the RM Administrator, the Municipal Office Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the municipality. This position is responsible for assisting with a wide range of administrative duties as outlined in The Municipalities Act, ensuring smooth, efficient, and transparent operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing general financial and administrative tasks, including accounts receivable and payable processing, receipting, answering incoming calls, and providing front-line support to ratepayers
  • Assisting the RM Administrator in all municipal administrative functions
  • Assisting with property assessment and tax enforcement matters
  • Offering informed guidance and administrative support to ensure efficient municipal operations

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • A solid understanding of municipal operations, policies, and applicable legislation (experience with The Municipalities Act is an asset)
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to be bondable and provide a satisfactory criminal record check
